Harrison Rocketry

Mission Patch

Welcome to the Harrison Rocketry Team based in Harrison NY. We are a group of rocketeers who want to touch the stars! Co-led by Alissa Remeza (Harrison High School) and Morgan Remeza (Cornell Univ), we design, build, and fly high-power rockets with scientific payloads.

We established a community service program to engage with students in STEM. We hosted 15 community events and taught hundreds of students how to build and fly rockets. From 2019-21, we placed top nationally in multiple categories in the NASA Student Launch. Each year, over 5000 students nation-wide participate in this 8-month long challenge.

Since 2021, Alissa Remeza expanded the program to teach particle physics, mythology in space, STEM in science fictions at the Harrison Public Library. Alissa designed and published an app “Neutrino!”and made it available to all students for free. For her dedication to community service, Alissa was recognized for 2023 Youth Leadership Award by NY Senator Shelley Mayer.

2020-2021 Mission Patch holds our muse, Urania. Inspiration for us among many, may she be for us as she was for the great poet Milton.
